APEC y cómo las tensiones geopolíticas podrían afectar la marcha del foro

Resumen

La guerra comercial y tecnológica de EE. UU. con China, y la invasión rusa a Ucrania, están incrementando las tensiones geopolíticas que podrían afectar el foro APEC, donde esas tres economías están entre los miembros más importantes. En particular China y EE. UU. parecen encaminados a desarrollar cadenas de suministro paralelas, mientras EE. UU. refuerza sus alianzas económicas y políticas en Asia. Esto impactaría en el objetivo del APEC de lograr una Área de Libre Comercio en el Asia Pacifico, el FTAAP. Las demás economías miembros deben aprender a navegar entre estas tensiones entre la rivalidad de las grandes potencias, que parece ser un signo distintivo de las relaciones económicas internacionales en el futuro.

Carlos Aquino Rodríguez, Centro de Estudios Asiáticos, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos

Es Director del Centro de Estudios Asiáticos de la UNMSM. Maestría y Doctorado en Economía por la Universidad de Kobe, Japón. Especialidad en Teoría del Comercio Internacional, Desarrollo Económico del Asia, Política Económica Comparada AsiaLatinoamérica. Ha sido Profesor Visitante en Universidades en Asia. Autor del libro “Relaciones Peru-Japón: Diplomacia, Inmigración Economía y Política”, y “Introducción a la Economía Asiática”. Condecorado por el Gobierno de Japón en el 2012 con el “Premio del Canciller del Japón”, y el 2019 con la “Orden del Sol Naciente, Rayos Dorados con Roseta”. Ha sido Vicedecano Académico de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas, UNMSM, y Representante del Perú desde marzo del 2012, y presidente de octubre del 2012 a junio del 2013, en el grupo de expertos del Vision Group del Foro de Cooperación América Latina y Asia del Este, FOCALAE. Es entrevistado regularmente por diversos medios nacionales y extranjeros. Fue el primer Traductor Publico Juramentado del idioma japonés en el Perú. Con el presente artículo, el autor formaliza su incorporación como Miembro Asociado conforme a lo dispuesto por el Consejo Directivo de la Sociedad Peruana de Derecho Internacional, mediante Acta del 13 de diciembre de 2018.
